Is America the same country portrayed in movies and T.V?

I guess It would matter which movie you mean if you might have seen a glimpse of this distorted reality, but chances are probably unlikely that the lower budget films that contain some truth often reach beyond these borders and seas. Most of us don’t really seem to care that we’re more abundant in ignorance, hatred, and despair than we are in our stolen resources of earth, water, and air. The role of savior and role model is our shell, while at the core of this country we can’t even fool ourselves. This is the land of broken promises, a paradise that we’ve turned to hell. This land used to be plentiful until it was stolen and turned into a dried-up well. America the beautiful isn’t all that great. We’ve leveled most of our forests and polluted all the lakes. It’s nothing like the silver screen, people are drowning in generations of mistakes. We don’t have any superheroes that come save us from above. Our soldiers die fighting wars built on lies and nobody is falling in love. We’re so far from reaching equality, we’re choking on the joke of an American Dream, and the decay of capitalism spreads as far as any eye can see. This is what America looks like if you’re really asking me.
